I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

My interest in this book is: I enjoy reading collections because it offers a quick introduction to a group of authors previously unknown to me--like a story-telling treasure hunt.

Type of Book: Historical Romances, 1900's America, some of the stories are about the Harvey Girls of the Grand Canyon

Ideas / message / plot:   various

Favorite characters, quotes / lines: I enjoyed reading about the Harvey Girls.

When I finished this book I felt: Satisfied. This is a solid collection of stories that is perfect for the busy woman who just wants to sit and unwind with a decent story. All the authors do a good job of developing their characters and bringing the reader along.

I really enjoyed Nancy J. Farrier's The Richest Knight. It left room for me to want to read what happens next. Isn't that the point of a novella? To entice the reader? Well done Ms. Farrier!

Darlene Mindrup's novella Shelter from the Storm, started off rough for me--descriptions in the beginning felt a little forced--but once we get rolling, her characters are very well developed and you can tell she has created solid backstory for each character without feeling the need to tell you all about it. Perfect!

Loved Lynn A. Coleman's story. Olympic Hopes. It's honest & clear; she's blunt and to the point and her story resonates like a bell in a choir. She does a good job describing feelings, especially for YA who have never experienced love before and need a good example of what to do with the emotions and feelings of attraction and love. You can talk about love but this story helps the reader feel it.

Overall: These are stories that won't take weeks to read. It's nice to have a group of stories that you can just pick up and unwind with, knowing you don't have to think a lot about anything--like watching a Hallmark movie.
Stories range from 3.4-3.8 starts
