Not By Sight by Kate Breslin

Book: Not by Sight
Author: Kate Breslin
Publisher: Bethany House
Publishing Date: August 4, 2015

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.

My interest in this book is: Have you heard of her? I had yet to until I came across the beautiful book cover while perusing Netgalley one evening. The cover is stunning and I trust Bethany House stories to be of excellent quality so I thought to give it a try. This author and novel did not disappoint.

Type of Book: Historical Fiction, London, 1917 (WWI ~ The Great War).

Ideas / message / plot: "For we live by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). Not judging people by the outward appearance.

Favorite characters, quotes / lines: I love how Grace, our lead female, is always looking for her next story. "she couldn't have asked for a more pleasing exile. It was the perfect setting for her next story." Even if we're not authors, shouldn't we be living life with this type of expectation and excitement?

When I finished this book I felt: Wow...that was a fun read! I had such a great adventure with these characters and loved being on this journey of Grace's.

Other books to read by this Author or theme: I can't wait to go back and read Kate's debut novel: For Such A Time, a Christian Retailing's 2015 Best Award for first time author,  a Christy award, RITA award, and Carol award finalist.

Overall: We have an excellent cast of characters, twists and turns, history, and a plot that is unique to what's usually found out there. It's no wonder Bethany House scooped Kate up!

5 stars and worth sharing with your friends!
