Book Review ~ A Talent For Trouble

Book: A Talent for Trouble, book 3 of the series (plus a novella makes this #4)
Author: Jen Turano
Publisher: Bethany House
Publishing Date: October 1, 2013

Type of Book: Historical Romance, 1881

My interest in this book is:  I wanted to read something light and funny after a long epic I had been reading. I have enjoyed the cast and the humor from Jen's previous books in the series and knew I wouldn't be disappointed.

Message/Plot: You are not your past.

Favorite quote: The opening lines: "Miss Felicia Murdock was wallowing. She did not normally have the propensity to wallow, but given the trying circumstances of the day, she felt she was entitled, at least for an hour or two."  I love this beginning! It makes me smile; I like Felicia already.

When I finished this book I felt: Light. Refreshed. Laughter and a good story will do that to you.

Other books I would recommend by this Author: Her whole series is great. You can check out the others I've reviewed here. Her books are simple, humorous reads--like something you'd find on TV on a Saturday afternoon on Hallmark or USA. I look forward to the release of her 5th book this next summer!

Overall: I would recommend this book to teens+ and believe it could be bookshelf worthy. These are ones you can always go back to and enjoy.

Similarly, a great "Read again and again" author is Julie Lessman and her books like Love at Any Cost. Lessman's books tend to have a little more substance than Turano's, so it depends on what you're looking for; a kick-back, veg, it's been a long day with the kids/work kind of day, Jen would be refreshing and nice. Once you've read her book, give Lessman a try and see what you think. I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

I received this book free through www.netgalley.com from the publisher for an honest review.
