A Noble Masquerade by Kristi Ann Hunter

Book: A Noble Masquerade  (A Hawthorne House book 1)
Author: Kristi Ann Hunter
Publisher: Bethany House
Publishing Date: September 8, 2015

I received a copy of this book from www.NetGalley.com and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

My interest in this book is: I heard of this book from a fellow reviewer that I trust with finding really good reads. Plus, I like Masquerades, I like all things Noble, and the cover was pretty. :)

Type of Book: England, early 1800's

Ideas / message / plot: being who you are vs. who you appear to be

Favorite characters, quotes / lines: "Oh, very well, it wasn't a wall precisely. Walls didn't appear in the middle of passageways, covered in wool. 'I do apologize, my lady.' Nor did they speak."

"He grinned as sleep crowded the edges of his mind. It may not be nice, but it was definitely fun."

"Forget skipping a beat, her heart just gave up and stopped altogether."

When I finished this book I felt: As you can see by the quotes above, we have a quirky, fun cast of characters that take us through a well told story that reminds us not to judge others for who they appear to be and of the importance of being true to one's self.

Other books to read by this author: Pick up Hunter's FREE novella that introduces this Hawthorne House series: A Lady of Esteem

Overall: What a fun debut novel! I look forward to reading more from Kristi Ann Hunter--watch the shelves this coming summer for book #2 in the series! Overall, I thought this was a cute read that has everything a good book needs.
4.8 stars & a good one to share with friends
