Book Review ~ A Passion Most Pure

Book Title:  A Passion Most Pure
Author: Julie Lessman
Publisher: Revel

Type of Book: Historical Inspirational Romance

I received this book: from the library then promptly bought a copy for myself.

My interest in this book: Character driven novel, historical, Bad Boy Redemption story.

Ideas expressed/message/plot: 1914-1917; settings in: Boston, Ireland & France in WWI.

Favorite Characters, quotes/lines: Collin McGuire, Faith, Patrick, Mrs. Gerson.
I really want to put up my favorite quote but it's at the end and I don't want to give anything away! Ok...I'll put it in the comments section if you really want to know it. :)

When I finished this book I felt: Happy. I'm not much for soap operas and this one got close (the next one in the series defiantly goes that way, but it's still a fantastic series!) but the way Julie crafts her story lines and the characters is full-throttle.

Overall: She writes love well. She writes love well because God's love is the center of it all and that fact is well demonstrated through Julie's writings. You can tell that Julie's life centers around Christ because her stories do--no matter how soap opera-y they may get. (Love ya, Julie!) I don't think her books should be missed. Look for her newest book to come out next month: Love at Any Cost.

Other stories I've enjoyed by this author: This was the 1st I had read of Julie's works but have since read the rest of this trilogy and bought all her other books she's written. Looking forward to reading Love at Any Cost, especially since I'm a California girl.

  1. "I'm going to make you fall madly in love with me."
"Too late," she quipped. "I already am." ...
"Oh no, Little Bit," he said in a hush. "We're not even close." (477)

AHH! Every time I read that I fall in love with the characters all over again!
